The Basque region is located in northwest Spain and southwest France. However, the Basque conflict took place primarily in Spain. The geographic location is found at the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains and the coast of the Bay of Biscay. The Pyrenees Mountains seperates the Spain and France countries, splitting the Basque region as well.
